Introduction
From Tabarqah in the north to Eshowe in the south, and from Dakar in the west to Zanzibar in the east, my story is of the journeys I have undertaken, the struggles I have endured, the people I have met, the lives they lead, and the impressions I have been left with as I have roamed across eighteen African countries. So many memories, meetings, and memoirs; travels, thoughts, and impressions. Trips made mainly whilst working for Samaritan’s Purse - a Christian relief and development organisation - but also occasionally for holidays and for visiting friends. Sometimes on my own, sometimes with a colleague or companion, and sometimes whilst leading a team. Conversations with Presidents, Patriarchs and Parliamentarians and, equally compelling, with the least, the last and the lost.
