Hello
I am Alan Cutting; a Christian, a husband, a father and a grandfather.
For twenty years I was a pastor and planter of churches in the UK and Belgium, and in more recent years my primary role has been to equip and support churches across the world, particularly in terms of helping them work out what it means to be integral and effective in their mission to their communities. Since the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine, much of my time has been spent with the Ukrainian community that presently call Ipswich their home.
My interests include international travel, family history, gardening, walking and watching non-league football, especially Kettering Town F.C.

Raising Families: Envisioning the Church to Empower its Neighbourhood
This is my second book, published in April 2019. It is designed to encourage UK churches to find new and sustainable ways of mobilising their communities, taking twelve of the key lessons learned from the 3,000 churches I have been working with in Central Asia and Africa. The book is available as an ebook on Kindle, or as a paperback on Amazon.

Cutting Across Africa
From Tabarqah in the north to Eshowe in the south, and from Dakar in the west to Zanzibar in the east, this story is of the journeys I have undertaken, the struggles I have endured, the people I have met, the lives they lead, and the impressions I have been left with as I have roamed across eighteen African countries.

Public Speaking
I have been a public speaker since I was in my early twenties, mainly in churches but also in conferences, schools, universities, bible schools and community groups. I enjoy and am grateful for every opportunity I am given to teach and to train, be it a large group or small; a one-off visit or a series. I am happy to work to a specific brief. However, if given a free rein, I will often chose to speak to the church on the covenant love of God, on building good relationships, on the effective engagement of the church with its community, and on global and cross-cultural mission.

Consultancy As a Church and Community Transformation consultant since 2019, I have worked for Samaritan's Purse, Tearfund, Grassroots Trust, ROM (Balkans), Christian International Peace Service, and the Anglican Dioceses of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and of Worcester. I am now available to discuss further consultancies, and can offer you my c.v. for your consideration. |
Listen to here my Mission Accompanier colleagues as they outline our role with the churches we are supporting in the Church of England Diocese of Worcester.
